GRADUATE SCHOOL ADMISSION

In response to current restrictions created by the COVID-19 health crisis, the BatStateU is waiving the BatStateU Graduate School Admission Test (GSAT) during the COVID -19 pandemic.

The University remains sensitive to the challenges of Graduate School applicants who are interested in continuing advanced studies.

This interim policy supports the flexibility options during the COVID-19 pandemic prioritizing the health and safety of the academic community and our stakeholders  while enabling as much of our mission-related activities to continue as possible.

Steps in Graduate School Admission

1. Fill out the BatStateU Graduate School Application form.
2. Submit the following requirements at google link.

    • Completely filled out application form with attached “2×2” picture with plain background. (Scanned copy)
    • Transcript of Records (Scanned copy)
    • Three recommendation letters from the following:
      • Current employer, immediate head or respective Human Resource Department or its equivalent and former advisers or professorsThe recommendation letters should be sealed in an envelope and should be submitted together with other application requirements through postal or courier to College Deans
    • Write-up on the “Personal Statement for Choosing BatStateU Graduate School”. It must be written in English, 100 words using font style – Times New Roman, font size  -12, paper size – A4
    • Capsule/Capstone Research Proposal – The Capsule/Capstone Research Proposal must be written in English, 300 words using font style – Times New Roman, font size -12, paper size – A4.
      • Content should include the ff:
        • Research proposal title/topic
        • Description of the research topic relative to graduate program being applied for
        • Objective of the research study
        • Significance of the research study
        • Research method or design to be used
  •  

3. Wait for the application to be evaluated by the Department/College.

COLLEGE ADMISSION

As the National Engineering University, Batangas State University is poised to provide a leadership role in shaping a new vision for engineering education in the country. To maintain its commitment in providing quality, excellent, relevant and responsive education, the University provides testing and admission services aimed to assess the applicants’ aptitude and ensure college success in preparation to a globally competitive workforce.

This policy is also designed to support and promote the university’s vision and mission of academic excellence.

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS FOR BATSTATEUCAT
1. Applicants must have completed high school in a recognized school, or must be enrolled in Senior High School, if not yet completed.
2. Applicants must submit the following:

  1. E – copy of Filled –out Application Form
  2. E- copy of one (1) recent 2”x2” ID picture with white or plain background
  3. Certified e- copy of final grades in Grades 10, and 11 in Math, English and Science
    c1. Grades Form 1 (for Regular Admission) / Grades Form 2 (for ALS)
    c2. Junior High School and Senior High School Form 137
    c3. Certification of completion of SHS and respective strand or enrolment therein, if not completed

The original hard copy of requirements will be submitted upon request of the Testing and Admission Office, the University Registrar, and/or College.

ADDITIONAL PROGRAM-SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS FOR ADMISSION
In addition to the general requirements, applicants must satisfy program specific requirements, as follows:

  • Engineering Programs, BS Chemistry, BS Computer Science, BS Biology, and BS Mathematics
  • Completion of STEM/ Pre-Baccalaureate Maritime strand program in Senior High School, or enrolment in the same program, if not yet completed.
  • Submission of certified copies of final grades from Grade 10 and Grade 11, with marks of at least 80% in Mathematics, Science and English subjects.
  • BS Architecture and BS Interior Design
    Completion of STEM / Pre-Baccalaureate Maritime strand / Arts and Design track program in Senior High School, or enrolment in the same program, if not yet completed.
  • Submission of certified copies of final grades from Grade 10 and Grade 11, with marks of at least 80% in Mathematics, Science and English subjects.
  • Education Programs and BS Criminology
  • Completion of any track or strand in any Education and Criminology programs, except BSED Math and BSED Science which require STEM strand/ Pre-Baccalaureate Maritime in senior high school or enrolment in the same program, if not yet completed.
  • Submission of certified copies of final grades from Grade 10 and Grade 11, with marks of at least 80% in Mathematics, Science and English subjects.
  • BS Accountancy
  • Completion of ABM strand program in Senior High School, or enrolment in the same program, if not yet completed.
  • Submission of certified copies of final grades from Grade 10 and Grade 11, with marks of at least 80% in Mathematics, Science and English subjects.
  • BS Customs Administration
  • Completion of ABM/GAS strand program in Senior High School, or enrolment in the same program, if not yet completed.
  • Submission of certified copies of final grades from Grade 10 and Grade 11, with marks of at least 80% in Mathematics, Science and English subjects.
  • BS Psychology
  • Completion of STEM/ Pre-Baccalaureate Maritime /HUMSS/GAS strand program in Senior High School, or enrolment in the same program, if not yet completed.
  • Submission of certified copies of final grades from Grade 10 and Grade 11, with marks of at least 80% in Mathematics, Science and English subjects.
  • BS Nursing and BS Nutrition and Dietetics
  • Completion of STEM/ Pre-Baccalaureate Maritime / GAS strand program in Senior High School, or enrolment in the same program, if not yet completed.
  • Submission of certified copies of final grades from Grade 10 and Grade 11, with marks of at least 80% in Mathematics, Science and English subjects.
  • Passed rating on screening/interview by the College.
  • BS Tourism Management
  • Completion of ABM strand/TVL track Major in Home Economics program in Senior High School, or enrolment in the same program, if not yet completed.
  • Passed rating on screening/interview to be conducted by the College.
  • BS Agriculture, BS Forestry, BS Fisheries and Aquatic Sciences
  • Completion of any track or strand in senior high school or enrolment in the same program, if not yet completed.
  • Bachelor of Fine Arts and Design Major in Visual Communication
  • Completion of STEM / Pre-Baccalaureate Maritime strand/Arts and Design track in Senior High School, or enrolment in the same program, if not yet completed.
  • BS Information Technology
  • Completion of STEM / Pre-Baccalaureate Maritime strand / TVL track Major in Information and Communication Technology strand program in Senior High School, or enrolment in the same program, if not yet completed.
  • Technology Programs
  • Completion of STEM/ Pre-Baccalaureate Maritime /GAS strand/TVL track in Senior High School, or enrolment in the same program, if not yet completed.
  • BS Business Administration, Entrepreneurship and Management Accounting
  • Completion of ABM strand program in Senior High School, or enrolment in the same program, if not yet completed.
  • B Public Administration
  • Completion of ABM/ HUMSS strand program in Senior High School, or enrolment in the same program, if not yet completed.
  • BS Hospitality Management
  • Completion of ABM strand/TVL track Major in Home Economics program in Senior High School, or enrolment in the same program, if not yet completed.
  • BA Communication and BA English Language Studies
  • Completion of GAS/HUMSS strand in Senior High School, or enrolment in the same program, if not yet completed.
  • BS Development Communication
  • Completion of GAS/HUMSS/ABM strand in Senior High School, or enrolment in the same program, if not yet completed.
  • Foreign students
  • Online interview with the Director for External Affairs, to be scheduled accordingly, with the interview guide and rubric
  • Academic Essay, to be assessed by the Dean and Program Chairperson of the College concerned, using a rubric

BATSTATEUCAT APPLICATION PROCEDURE
Applicants shall observe the following procedure:

1. Fill out the BatStateU College Application form at the (https://dione.batstate-u.edu.ph/tao/#/application).
2. Upload the scanned copy of Certification of Grades of applicant for the following subjects for each grade level.

    • Grade 10-  Mathematics, Science, English
    • Grade 11, 1st semester (non-STEM) – General Mathematics, Earth Science and Oral Communication
    • Grade 11, 2nd semester (non-STEM) – Statistics and Probability, Physical Science and Reading & Writing
    • Grade 11, 1st semester (STEM) – Pre-Calculus, Earth Science, Oral Communication
    • Grade 11, 2nd semester (STEM) – Basic Calculus, General Chemistry I, Oral Communication
  • In case of unavailability of the aforementioned priority subjects, the following alternative subjects may be considered:STEM Strand:
  • English:
    English for Academic Purposes
  • Mathematics:
    General Mathematics
    Statistics and Probability
  • Science:
    General Chemistry II
    General Physics I
    General Biology I
    Disaster Readiness & Risk Reduction  

    Non-STEM Strand:

  • English:
    English for Academic Purposes
  • Mathematics:
    Business Mathematics (for ABM strand)
  • Science:
    Disaster Readiness & Risk Reduction

The Certification must be signed and certified correct by the Principal/ School Registrar, or equivalent school officer.

3.  Wait for the confirmation from Testing and Admission Office (TAO); visit frequently the application tracker: (https://dione.batstate-u.edu.ph/tao/#/application).
4.  Once the application is approved, Examination Permit will be issued.
5. Take the BATSTATEUCAT.
6. Wait for the release of the BatStateU College Admission test result; scheduled date of release shall be given by TAO.
7. For qualifiers, a Notice of Admission will be posted in the BatStateUCAT link: https://dione.batstate-u.edu.ph/tao/#/batstateucat/.
8. Wait for the enrollment schedule. 

Requirements for Admission under AAP
Applicants under AAP must submit the requirements, as follow:

  • Indigent students
    • Certification of indigency from their respective barangay of parent or guardian, if available
    • Certificate of Tax Exemption from BIR
  • ALS graduates
    • Certification of completion of ALS program, or enrolment therein, if not completed
  • Indigenous people
    • Certificate of Tribe Membership, or any equivalent certification as belonging to indigenous people/indigenous cultural community
  • PWD
    • PWD Identification card
  • Iskolar ng Bayan
    • Certification from the public high school, duly signed by the school principal, of the rank of the applicant in the Top Ten of the graduating (Grade 12) class.

Procedures for Indigent Applicants under Programmed Admission shall be the same with other applicants.

Integrity of Application
The applicant guarantees the completeness and accuracy of information disclosed or contained in documents submitted. Misrepresentation, falsification, and any form of dishonesty committed in relation to application for admission shall be sufficient ground for disqualification from admission to BatStateU.

INTEGRATED SCHOOL ADMISSION

In response to current restrictions created by the COVID-19 health crisis, the BatStateU is waiving the Integrated / Laboratory School Admission Test. The University remains sensitive to the challenges of parents and children who intend to enroll in the BatStateU- Integrated/ Laboratory School.

This interim policy supports the flexibility options during the COVID-19 pandemic prioritizing the health and safety of the academic community and our stakeholders while enabling as much of our mission-related activities to continue as possible.

This policy applies to Integrated School applicants Kindergarten (5 years old), Grades 1 to 7,  and Laboratory School applicants – Kindergarten and Grade 7 (ARASOF-Nasugbu).

 

Steps in Integrated / Laboratory School Admission Application

In response to restrictions caused by COVID-19 outbreak, Batangas State University is waiving the Integrated School / Laboratory Admission Test due to COVID -19 pandemic. However, applicant must perform the following steps for admission:

  1. Fill out the BatStateU Pre-Elementary, Elementary Application form or BatStateU Junior High School Application form
  2. Fill out the BatStateU CAT Integrated School/ Laboratory School Admission Google form link by providing the name of applicant, grade level ( For Integrated School at PB Main I – Kindergarten, Grades 1 – 7 and for Laboratory School at ARASOF Kindergarten and Grade 7), grades and other needed information. The following requirements must be attached:
      • Two (2) copies of recent 2”x2” pictures, white background, good quality
      • Original &Photocopy of NSO/PSA Birth Certificate (For Kindergarten only)
      • For Transferees (Grade 1) – Scanned Copy of ECCD Checklist or
        Kinder Report Card, if available
      • For Transferees (Grades 2, 3, 4 & 6 )- Scanned Copy of SF 9 (Form 138-
        Report Card) from previous Grade Level: with no grades lower than 80%
      • For Incoming Grade 7- Scanned Copy of SF 9 (Form 138- Report Card) from previous Grade Level
        a. with general average of 90% and above
        b. without a quarter grade lower than 80%
  1. Wait for the admission result on the scheduled date of release. An e-mail with an attached Notice of Passing and an Admission Slip will be sent by the Testing and Admission Office through tao.isat@g.batstate-u.edu.ph.
